Burgh House is a beautiful 18th Century, Grade I listed house in the heart of Hampstead and we have been photographing weddings there since 2004. In fact it’s our most visited venue! The panelled Music Room is licensed for civil marriages and provides a unique and elegant setting for weddings.

I have one confession to make - I walked off with the Brides shoes as soon as she taken them off to dance at the ceilidh. As can be seen this was a very Colourful wedding and a very happy occasion.

Andrew and Helen provided marvellous pictures of our wedding day. They took great care to ensure that all the shots that we wanted were included and were able to fit in with our day with the greatest of ease. The elegant style and composition of their photographs was exactly what we were looking for, which was clearly a result of their care and preparation before the event. They were also extremely friendly and knew how to co-ordinate a big occasion. The end result was a wonderful wedding album with an bigger collection of great photographs that we couldn’t include. On the day Andrew and Helen were fantastic - very discreet, taking great natural photos of the day. It was really useful to have two photographers on hand to get different angles. They are also really lovely people and will happily take particular photos if you ask! Our photo album is a real delight which we enjoy looking at. Andrew and Helen Daykin were brilliant on our wedding day as they were super friendly and very efficient. Lots of our guests commented on how unobtrusive they were. Andrew and Helen provided us with fantastic service before, during and after our wedding. Friendly advice beforehand was a great help as we hadn’t really thought about the in’s and out’s of what pictures we would like. Also the informal style they adopt for the majority of pictures balanced by (not too many!) professionally executed ‘traditional’ group shots meant we had a great mixture of pictures for our album. Our wedding day itself was subject to very bad weather, but this doesn’t detract atall from our photo’s and in some cases is used to great dramatic effect! This, along with an ability to capture guests looking natural and as we remember them rather than posed, means we are very happy with the end result and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the Daykin’s service. Finally, Andrew and Helen have been extremely professional throughout, being where they said they would when they would, returning calls and emails quickly and despatching prints etc. quickly and efficiently. All small but very important things when trying to get everything together for a wedding!

Wedding at University College Chapel Oxford

The Flower Fairies provided the floral bouquets and arrangements for the recent wedding of Claire and Michael in Stratton Audley. The delicate colouring of the blooms contrasted beautifully with the chosen scheme for the wedding. Both the church and the reception venue were greatly enhanced by the dramatic floral arrangements, and the bride and groom were immensely pleased with the overall effect. Also we are located about 1.5 minute walk away from the Flower Fairies base.

Niki and Grant were married on Saturday 6th June 2009 at The Oxford Belfry Hotel. After a lot of pricipitation during the day we were able to get outside early evening and get some glamorous photographs of the bride and groom.

Lis and Timur were married at Burgh House in Hampstead, London and the wedding breakfast took place in a Marquee at the Brides parents home in Highgate.

We will be making our first visit to The Great Barn at Aynho after the Ceremony at The Parish Church of St Laurence Winslow.

Followed the very next day by another visit to Burgh House in Hampstead our first visit there was in August 2004 and we were then listed as recommended photographers since then we have photographed a number of weddings at Burgh House and we will also returning there in early September.

Our very first wedding at Weston Manor takes place in June Weston Manor Hotel the ceremony will be held at St Mary, Chesterton.

Later in the summer we will be photographing weddings at Hawkwell House Iffley , The Belfry, Coome Manor, Lord Leicester in Warwick, Burgh House, Hurley Monks Barn, The Bay Tree Burford and in early December Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons to sample Raymond Blanc’s Christmas pudding.

This wedding won the prize for the most colourful wedding of the year that we have attended. The Bridesmaids Rebecca, Suzannah, Dorelys and Kirsty each wore a different colour of the rainbow and looked stunning. The Bride Cheryl looked fabulous and carried flowers of the most amazing colours.

Daniel the Groom did not let the side down with his very stylish multi coloured striped shirt and smart suit. All the wedding party had made great efforts to follow the bright colour scheme of the day.

The service was held at the Church of St Michael the Archangel in Warfield Berkshire close to Royal Ascot racecourse and the reception was held nearby.

Cheryl and Daniel have just recently returned from nine months travelling around the world and this clearly influenced the colour scheme for their wedding. It was a joyous occasion and we were very thrilled to be a part of it.

Queens College Oxford was the special setting for the wedding of Lyndall and Peter. Sunflowers as well as wall-to-wall sunshine were the order of the day when Laura and Daniel were married. The pretty church in the gorgeous setting of Little Marlow, followed by a short walk to the Queens Head made for a relaxed and enjoyable day, with bride and groom savouring every minute.

Lindsay and David chose a small family wedding at Garth Park registry office Bicester, with its lovely gardens and bandstand for the photographs. The ceremony was followed by a relaxing meal cooked and served by relatives in their garden. It was also one of those rare occasions when the sun shone after all the rainy days of summer.

The recent wedding of Stephanie and James began with a lunchtime military briefing over lunch in the pub. Andrew went to oversee the non-military bridal preparations whilst Helen braved the rain at the church. The weather was not allowed to spoil the day as the many coloured umbrellas just added to the jolly atmosphere. The sumptuous surroundings of Barton House were perfect for relaxing everyone, especially the bride and groom, who made themselves quite at home.

Notley Tythe Barn was the beautiful and relaxed setting chosen by Wendy and Nigel for their wedding day. Everyone agreed that the quiet surrounding countryside as well as the return of summer weather made the event feel extra special and enjoyable.

Vanessa and Tom’s wedding day was warm and sunny after many rainy days. The Chapel of Worcester College in Oxford was a stunning backdrop to the ceremony. The reception venue High Wall was no less stunning, with the beautiful gardens having far reaching views across Oxford and the evening fireworks probably being seen and heard in the city and Headington.

Carolyn and Daniel had a truly transatlantic wedding, having flown over from Georgia USA. The beautiful village of West Hanney had been flooded just before they arrived, but luckily dried out in time. It was a glorious day for this intimate and very traditional English wedding.

Today we have been on a visit to Queen’s College Oxford to meet up with one of our brides-to-be and have a grand tour of the college. Yes it was raining rather badly, but this did not detract from the splendour of the buildings. Hearing the plans for the wedding from the bride and meeting the college staff helps us to provide the best possible coverage of events. We often take a camera along on such visits, especially if it’s a venue we are not familiar with. Below are a few photographs from our visit.

We are often asked by prospective customers whether we have worked at a specific venue and our usual response is: we cover many locations across the UK, and with good planning and venue visits with the couple before the wedding, we can get the best out of the locations and give the bride and groom the beautiful photographs they desire.

Although every venue is unique, we hope that prospective clients can see that there are often similarities in the challenges for us to get the best shots.

Sam and Tom arranged a small, relaxed Wedding at the Oxfordshire Golf Club. Their plans were almost washed out by the torrential rain and flooding which closed the course for any would-be golfers. Happily we were still able to do the planned buggy trip over the course to the lake for some fun photos, with the flooded paths adding extra drama to the shots.

Sarah and Ben were married at their pretty local church at Worminghall, with a nearby field being the venue for their fantastic marquee.

The Glastonbury atmosphere was provided by the wellie boots hastily changed for dainty shoes outside church. Umbrellas were an essential accessory for the day, even when Mario arrived with his ice cream van at dessert course time. Despite the rain this was a very happy event and fun was had by all.

Susan and Matthew chose the beautiful Parish Church in Chipping Norton and filled it with flowers for their wedding day. The showers did not dampen their spirit, and the guests all managed the walk up the very steep hill to the Crown and Cushion Hotel - Susan and Matt of course were transported in the Hotel Rolls-Royce.

Rachel and Stuart had a truly memorable wedding in Windsor. The stunning setting of the church of St John the Baptist, followed by a scenic walk by the castle and down to the river were just the start of the celebrations.

Once on the boat, the guests were treated to a mystery tour with the surprise reception venue at the end of it - their very own secluded island in the middle of the Thames.

Our favourite of the session is this car in tunnel shot – closely supervised by Patrick as you can see.

Along with three other photographers we both worked with two glamorous models, Charlotte and Beth, who took time out from their college course to pose in the freezing surroundings of Chichester Cathedral cloisters!

It was great to bounce ideas and work alongside other photographers in such a fantastic location, coming away with a real excitement about our upcoming weddings over the next few months.

Victoria and Nick were married at Burgh House in Hampstead on 7th October 2006 and we were all very lucky to have a bright sunny autumn day to take photographs outside. Burgh House is a venue well known to us and we have been on the recommended photographers list since the first wedding we photographed there in August 2004.
It is an ideal location for a London wedding and we would recommend a walk on Hampstead Heath for some location shots. Bill Oddie may appear out of the undergrowth if you are unlucky.

On Sunday the tenth of September we had the privilege of photographing Kavitha and Steven’s wedding at Addington Palace in Surrey. We had not been to a Hindu wedding before so it was a great responsibility for us to capture all the essential events of the day. With 350 guests attending the ceremony and then the evening reception, it was a very colourful and happy event. The first photograph of the day was taken at 10.22 am at the Bride’s parents’ home and the last at 10.21pm when the dancing commenced.
